Belarus announces over 80 acts of ‘terrorism and sabotage’ on railways

The Belarusian Interior Ministry has announced that more than 80 acts of "terrorism and sabotage" have been carried out on the country’s railway infrastructure, the Belarus 1 state television channel reported on April 7.

The Belarusian agency said that all the attacks were of a similar nature.

In recent weeks, pro-government Belarusian media have reported the arrest of dozens of railway workers and suspected attackers.

There was also an incident when police officers shot to kill at three people.

According to earlier reports, Belarusian "railway partisans" are trying to stop the movement of military equipment and weapons on the Belarusian railway network.

Russia, which launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, is using the territory of Belarus to attack Ukraine. In particular, it has based warplanes in Belarus and is launching missiles at target in Ukraine from there.

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko allowed the transporting of Russian military hardware and weapons by rail in the country.

In addition, the bodies of Russian invaders killed in Ukraine have been taken to Belarusian morgues, while those wounded have been taken to Belarusian hospitals.
