45% of Donetsk Oblast still under Ukrainian control
Approximately 45% of Donetsk Oblast remains under the control of Ukraine, regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko told Belsat channel on Sept. 5.
“That is the Bakhmut axis and the Avdiyivka axis, where the enemy has been advancing for many weeks, postponing, as they say, the deadline for reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk Oblast. However, their actions are not successful.”
According to him, in Donetsk Oblast, the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities –ahead of the region’s complete de-occupation process – stands at approximately 45%.
"The shelling of the region, public infrastructure, as well as the population centers of large cities along the front line, as well as throughout the region, actually continues every day,” said Kyrylenko.
“The outcome of shelling are casualties and wounded among the civilian population. And, unfortunately, we record such facts on a daily basis.”
