“Luhansk Oblast is not cut off! The Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway is not blocked. There is access to Lysychansk and Severodonetsk,” he wrote in a post on the Telegram messenger.

He said that in the afternoon of May 25 the media began to spread reports that the Russians had allegedly cut off the “road of life” linking Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast to Lysychansk in Luhansk Oblast.

“This does not reflect the actual situation,” Hayday wrote. “The road is under fire, but today we were able to deliver trucks with humanitarian aid. As of 1 p.m., movement along this road is possible.”

Russian invasion forces have been making advances in the Donbas in recent days, raising fears in Ukraine that Ukrainian forces in Lysychansk and Severodonetsk might be encircled.
