Collaborators in occupied Melitopol panic, refuse to work, says local media

Local collaborators are afraid of working in the Taras Shevchenko Palace of Culture located in the city center of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, and are panicking to the extent of refusing to return, the independent RIA-Melitopol news outlet reported on July 18.

Currently, collaborators are working to restore the offices of the city executive committee building on Mykhailo Hrushevskyi Street, which RIA-Melitopol says is the one that local collaborators would prefer to move to.

Collaborator Galina Danilchenko and puppet leader Yevheny Balitsky occupy offices on the ground floor. The office on the second floor, where Mayor Ivan Fedorov worked at the beginning of the war, has been occupied by Andrei Sihuta, appointed as the authority of the Russian puppet civilian administration.

The Russian occupation authorities have blocked Hrushevskyi Street with concrete slabs, closing it to vehicle traffic.

In the first days of the war, the Russian military broke into the building of the executive committee on Hrushevskyi Street and smashed up all the offices.
