More than 10,000 volunteers signed up to be rescuers

More than 10,000 Ukrainians have already signed up to be volunteer rescuers, helping to rebuild Ukraine in the wake of the full-scale invasion launched by Russia, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

Volunteers are currently working in Kyiv Oblast, in particular, in places where the territories have been cleared of mines. The work includes search and rescue, cleaning streets of wreckage and removing debris.

“At the same time, due to the mining of settlements and surrounding areas by Russian forces, local and self-government authorities cannot employ all volunteers until work to clear territories and houses of explosive objects is completed,” the State Emergency Service said.
