Russian missile strike targeted Kharkiv’s subway system, says city police chief

A Russian missile strike on Kharkiv on June 20 that left one person injured aimed to damage the city’s subway infrastructure, regional police head Volodymyr Tymoshko told Ukrainian news outlet Status Quo on June 21.

“Kharkiv’s subway infrastructure was hit,” said Tymoshko.

“Specifically, a train depot was hit. At least three trains were damaged, one employee was injured…”

Tymoshko added that sporadic Russian air strikes seek to sow panic among residents of Kharkiv.

A report by the State Emergency Service suggested another missile struck an education facility in the city’s Kyivskiy district, with no casualties.
