Russian officials evacuating families from southern Ukraine and Crimea, Ukrainian intelligence says
According to the report, these “government officials,” FSB operatives, and some Russian military commanders are looking to sell their homes in occupied Ukrainian territories, despite ostensibly claiming confidence in the continued Russian military occupation of Ukraine’s Crimea.
At the same time, the occupation regime has restricted real estate transactions and civilian movement across the Kerch Bridge, which connects Ukraine’s Crimea and Russia. The message also said news of the recent successful Ukrainian counter-offensives in Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts is being suppressed.
Ukrainian forces liberated five more settlements in Kherson Oblast, on Sept. 12.
The stunning Russian defeat and subsequent retreat from Kharkiv Oblast in recent days marks a turning point in the war – according to a recent report by U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
