Ukrainians admire Boris Johnson and Andrzej Duda, don’t support Putin and Lukashenko
Over the past two months, Ukrainians' attitudes toward the leaders of Poland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Lithuania, and France have improved significantly, pollsters note.
In particular, 92% of the respondents have a positive attitude to Polish President Andrzej Duda, 87% admire British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, while U.S. President Joe Biden has 76% of support. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has 75%, as does Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda. Some 75% of Ukrainians still support French President Emmanuel Macron.
In addition, 66% have a positive attitude towards President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
At the same time, the attitude towards German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has deteriorated: 30% have a positive attitude towards him, while 54% have a negative attitude (in January 2022, the share of the latter was 23%).
In turn, 26% report a positive attitude towards German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, while 44% have a negative attitude towards him.
The poll was conducted among the population of Ukraine aged 18 and older in all oblasts, except for the temporarily occupied territories of the Crimea and Donbas.
The sample is representative of age, sex, and type of settlement. In total, the poll involved 1,000 respondents.
The survey was carried out with the use of the CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews) method. The margin of error does not exceed 3.1%.
