The central Ukrainian government has granted UAH 5 billion ($136.7 million) to regional authorities in order to restore power infrastructure facilities damaged by Russian strikes in recent months, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denis Shmyhal, reported on Facebook on Oct. 23.
"An additional UAH 300 million ($8.2 million) was allocated to restore infrastructure in Kharkiv and the oblast, also 37 million ($1 million) was allocated to restore Kyiv's infrastructure,” he explained.
"In general, the Ukrainian government has granted about UAH 5 billion for restoring war-damaged energy facilities.”
Shmyhal added that the government has approved the launch of a recovery program within the framework of the Energy Efficiency Fund – a government program that assists in constructing thermal insulation for co-owned apartment buildings. The recovery program will instead focus on rebuilding damaged houses.
