The Ukrainian division of Russia’s Alfa Bank is rebranding into Sense Bank, and has already informed the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market of the change, the FinClub business information agency reported on July 11.
"(The bank’s new) full name in Ukrainian: Joint Stock Company Sense Bank," reads a letter from the bank in answer to questions from NV Business.
The fact that Alfa Bank Ukraine had decided to abandon the Alfa brand and continue working under a new brand was reported in early June.
"The bank wants nothing to do with an aggressor country, even at the level of associations and a brand operating in Russia," said Simeon Dyankov, who was given the right to vote for the bank's majority shareholding in agreement with the National Bank of Ukraine in mid-April.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, as of March 1, 2022, Alfa Bank Ukraine ranked fifth in terms of total assets (UAH 123.77 billion) among 69 banks operating in the country.
