The Baltic states will look to completely stop the import of liquefied natural gas from Russia, which more than doubled in 2022, said Lithuanian Energy Minister Dainius Kreivys, reported Interfax-Ukraine on April 14.

Kreivys discussed the issue with the Latvian Minister for Climate and Energy Raimonds Čudars.

"We came to a consensus that liquefied petroleum gas should not be imported to the three Baltic countries," said Kreivys.

“This is, as I said, a decision of the three Baltic states, as there are no European sanctions against LNG.”

"Latvia's position is also similar, so we will look for joint solutions on how to move forward," the minister added.

Earlier, NV reported that the European Union had invented an original way to limit the import of liquefied natural gas from Russia.
