The European Union has agreed to allocate the fifth tranche of military aid to Ukraine worth 500 million euros, EU Foreign Affairs High Commissioner Josep Borrell tweeted on July 20.

He said that the new military aid package had been agreed upon at the Ministerial Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

"EU Member States agreed to mobilize 5th tranche of military assistance of €500M to further support Ukraine's Armed Forces," the official tweeted.

Borrell also emphasized that the "EU remains focused and steadfast in its support for Ukraine, together with partners."
