Japan will hold a meeting of G7 finance ministers to discuss their response to the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, as well as sanctions against Russian companies, Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki announced on Feb. 20, according to Kyodo News.

Suzuki will chair the meeting, as Japan holds the G7 presidency this year.

"We'd like to reaffirm G7 solidarity in supporting Ukraine and maintaining our pressure on Russia and discuss the impact (of the war) on the global economy," Suzuki said.

On Feb. 24, G7 leaders will meet remotely with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
