Ukrainians who lost their property due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine will be able to write off some of their debts on consumer loans, the Chairman of the Parliament Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev said.
Verkhovna Rada MPs will draft a bill on writing off debts on consumer loans for the purchase of movable and immovable property that was destroyed during the war, he said.
“We will introduce the bill to the Verkhovna Rada within the next week,” Hetmantsev wrote in his telegram channel.
According to him, the development of such a draft law of Ukraine has already been agreed with the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine and the prime minister.
“A person shouldn’t have to pay a debt for a non-existent object,” Hetmantsev said.
