The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be permanently deployed to all nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Ukraine, Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, tweeted on Jan. 16.

"IAEA is expanding its presence in Ukraine to help prevent a nuclear accident during the ongoing conflict," the message reads.

Grossi said he is proud to head this mission to Ukraine, that will be deployed "in all of the country’s NPPs to provide assistance in nuclear safety and security."

It was already reported that IAEA will maintain a “continuous presence” at all Ukraine's NPPs in order to monitor the safety situation amid the full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine.

On Dec. 22, Grossi claimed that talks with Russia’s Rosatom state nuclear energy company about a safe zone around Ukraine’s Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant would continue.
