The list of ships that Russia is using to export and sell stolen Ukrainian grain and other goods has been handed over to an adviser to the President of Turkey, the leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev has said.
Dzhemilev was speaking after a meeting with Yalcin Topcu, Chief Adviser to the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Head of the National Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) in Ankara Feyzi Berdibek, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reports
“One of the issues discussed was related to the fact that, according to our information, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia transports wheat and other goods stolen in the occupied territories, including through Turkish ports,” Dzhemilev said after the meeting.
“This is despite it being decided four years ago that no ships visiting ports in the occupied territories, primarily ports in Crimea, could be accepted and served in Turkish ports.”
The Russian ships were used to take wheat stolen from Ukraine’s Kherson Oblast from Sevastopol in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea, to Turkish ports, where the Russians tried to sell it to Turkey, Syria and Egypt, Dzhemilev said.
“We agreed that they (the Turks) would take the matter in hand,” the Crimean Tatar leader said.
