National Bank of Ukraine steps up sales of foreign currency

Ukraine’s central bank has again increased the sale of foreign currency on the market, breaking the trend of lower sales seen for the past several weeks, the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine reported on June 18.

Over the past week, the Ukrainian central bank bought only U.S. $6.6 million. 

Since the beginning of the year, the NBU has sold $11.2 billion and EUR 1.8 billion, and bought $1.8 billion dollars and EUR 110 million. 

As of June 17, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar at UAH 29.25 per dollar.
