Ukrainian advertising agency Zlodei Advertising turned a famous meme created from a viral video of a group of Ghanaian pallbearers into an NFT token and has now sold it at an NFT auction for 327 ETH (ether), which is equivalent to U.S. $1,047,806.

Some $250,000 from the sale will go to support the Ukrainian military, namely to the international charitable foundation Come Back Alive, while $500,000 will go to the stars of the viral video and the creator of the meme. As the authors of the sold token noted, this is the first monetization for the pallbearers.

The advertising agency will receive another $250,000.

“We negotiated for a long time - almost a year-and-a-half... For the last few months we have been actively working on the concept, which was changed due to the outbreak of war. But the result is really cool. We are happy to share this success, even more,” the creators of the Coffin Dance token said on Facebook.

Coffin Dance became an internet meme when the video of the pallbearers was paired with the Vicetone & Tony Igy song “Astronomia.” The meme is often associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
