A shortage of electricity may occur in Ukraine during the summer, said Ukrenergo board chair, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, on national television on April 27.
Ukrenergo is Ukraine’s state electricity transmission system operator.
Typically, there is an excess of electricity during the spring and summer in Ukraine, but this year the situation is different due to the shelling of infrastructure by Russian invaders, he said.
The deficit can be compensated by increasing the capacity of thermal power plants and through imports from Europe, Kudrytskyi noted.
