The UK government has decided to cancel all duties on goods shipped from Ukraine, the government announced in a press release on April 25. It noted that this decision would help bolster Ukraine’s economy as it defends itself from a full-scale Russian invasion.
“All tariffs on goods imported from Ukraine will now be reduced to zero and all quotas will be removed under the free trade agreement, providing Ukraine economic support in their hour of need,” the report says.
In particular, tariffs on barley, honey, tinned tomatoes, and poultry have been removed.
The United Kingdom also announced an export ban on products and technologies that Russia could use to further its war against Ukraine. These include telecommunication interception and monitoring equipment.
There will be no peace until Russian dictator Vladimir Putin fails in Ukraine, the UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said on Apr. 24.
