Ukraine economy minister boasts of record high exports in 2021
Ukrainian exports hit a record high of $68.24 billion in 2021, the country’s economy minister, Yulia Svyrydenko, wrote on Facebook on Jan. 5.
Ukraine’s export numbers were last as high, at $68.39 billion, back in 2011. They were at $68.81 billion in 2012, she said.
However, the previous results took into account the indicators in the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the non-government-controlled parts Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.
Ukraine’s foreign trade balance (goods and services) will be published on Jan. 15, the minister said.
In third quarter of 2021, Ukraine posted a $111.84 billion turnover of goods and services, with a positive balance of $443.25 million.
In total, the turnover of goods in 2021 stood at $141.54 billion (36.71 percent up compared to 2020).
According to Svyrydenko, the amount of exports in absolute terms grew by $19.05 billion.
Ukraine exported grain crops worth $12.35 billion in 2021, which is 31.1 percent up compared to 2020.
