Ukraine extends special customs duty on diesel fuel, gas and coal
Ukraine has extended for another year a 4 percent special duty on diesel pipeline fuel from Russia, as well as a 3 percent duty on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported on Dec. 29.
The relevant decision was taken at a meeting of the Ukrainian cabinet on Dec. 29.
In particular, Russian LPG, diesel fuel and hydrocarbons are subject to special duties.
A 65 percent special customs duty on imports of all types of coal, with the exception of anthracite, coking and bituminous, has also been extended.
The Ukrainian government introduced the special duty on coal on Aug. 1, 2019.
The Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities Services of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has also proposed to impose a 4-5 percent single special duty on imports of all types of energy resources from Russia.
