The first ship carrying Ukrainian grain has arrived in Djibouti, Ukraine’s Infrastructure Ministry said in a Facebook post on Aug. 30.

The vessel BRAVE COMMANDER was chartered by the UN World Food Pro-gramme to deliver 23,000 tons of wheat from blockaded Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea. Once unloaded, the grain will make its way to consumers in Ethiopia.

“We continue to work with UN WFP to increase our food aid,” Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kurbakov said.

“I’m grateful to our partners for their cooperation.”

BRAVE COMMANDER departed from Ukrainian port Pivdennyi on Aug. 16, as part of a multilateral partial deblockading of Ukrainian ports.
