Despite the occupation of much of its agricultural lands, ongoing Russian naval blockade, and EU restriction on exports, Ukraine has managed to export 48.99 million tons of grain and legumes between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023, Ukrainian news agency Interfax-Ukraine reported on July 3, citing government data. Notably, this is 641,000 tons more than in 2021/2022.

In this period, Ukraine grain exports had the following breakdown:

·       Wheat: 16.84 million tons (-10.6% compared to the previous year);

·       Barley: 2.7 million tons (-52.9%);

·       Rye: 18 thousand tons (-88.9%);

·       Corn: 29.13 million tons (+24.4%).

Furthermore, in the 2022/2023 marketing year, Ukraine shipped 153.6 thousand tons of flour, which is 2.2 times more than the previous year when the exports stood at 70.7 thousand tons.
