Ukraine’s air traffic among top 5 least-impacted in Europe in 2021

4 January 2022, 05:12 PM

Ukraine, along with countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Armenia, are among the states that have been least affected by falls in air traffic in 2021, Kyiv-based news agency Interfax-Ukraine has reported, citing data published by Eurocontrol, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation.

Ukraine’s air traffic only dropped by 26 percent in comparison to 2019, with 130,000 flights being carried out in 2021.

The Eurocontrol data show that the United Kingdom, Finland, and Ireland, whose air traffic plummeted by a dramatic 62 percent, were hit the hardest by coronavirus-pandemic-linked air traffic disruptions, and are taking the longest to recover.
