State-owned Ukrainian bank PrivatBank will purchase further 600 Starlink terminals to ensure its offices continue to work despite intermittent power cuts, PrivatBank supervisory board member Roman Sulzhyk said in a Facebook post on Dec. 15.
“I will very briefly answer the Ruzzian terrorists – you will never be able to takedown Privat(Bank),” Sulzhyk said.
“This is one of the biggest achievements of our team. We spent the whole of 2021 protecting the bank from cyber attacks and securing client data, so all their attacks were repelled at the beginning of the war. And now Privat is already working from the cloud, from Europe, so even the physical destruction of our data centers in Ukraine won’t achieve anything.”
Earlier, SpaceX announced it was raising the price of Starlink terminals and subscriptions for Ukrainian customers to $700 and $75/mo, respectively.
