French petroleum company TotalEnergies should sever its business ties with Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in a Twitter post on Aug. 26.

An earlier report by French newspaper Le Monde suggested TotalEnergies could still be supplying Moscow with fuel for its fighter jets.

“We are grateful to (French President) Emmanuel Macron and the French people for supporting Ukraine,” said Kuleba.

“Against this background, it is a disgrace to France when French companies assist the murder of Ukrainians and the ruining of our cities. TotalEnergies, pull out of Russia!”

The French government said the matter should be thoroughly investigated.
