Ukrposhta to issue new ‘Weapons of Victory’ postage stamps, donate part of sales to Ukrainian Army

Ukrainian national Postal Service Ukrposhta will issue a new collection of postage stamps on Dec. 6, titled ‘Weapons of Victory’ dedicated to the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the postal company reported on Dec. 2.

The “Weapons of Victory” sheet will consist of six postage stamps with samples of domestic and foreign military weapons: Vilkha, Neptune, Stugna-P, Bayraktar TB2, Javelin, and HIMARS.

A First Day envelope, an unmarked envelope and a card will be issued for the stamps.

“In today’s reality, when Russia is waging a full-scale war against Ukraine, it is more important than ever to show respect and support to the military, who tirelessly defend the borders and repel enemy attacks,” the postal service’s press service said

“That is why Ukrposhta announces the release of new postage stamps – Weapons of Victory – to thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their resilience, strength and courage,” the company’s press service said.

The total of 200,000 copies will be issued, and part of the collected funds will be sent to help the Armed Forces. The cost of a sheet is UAH 90 ($2.50), of which UAH 18 ($0.50) is a charitable contribution.

The denomination of each stamp is (UAH 12 / $0.50), corresponding to the price of sending a non-priority plain letter weighing up to 50 g within Ukraine.

The authors of the issue are graphic artists Serhiy and Oleksandr Haruka.

The stamps will be available for purchase starting Dec. 6 in city branches of Ukrposhta throughout the country, as well as in the official online store of Ukrposhta. The new brands will also be sold online on the Prom, Kasta, Rozetka, eBay and Amazon marketplaces. There will be restrictions on the sale of envelopes on the first day in branches – no more than 2 per order. You can order up to 50 stamp sheets, 50 artistic envelopes and 50 postcards online.

The pre-order period to buy the set opened on Dec. 1.

Previously, Ukrposhta issued the first stamp dedicated to the hero city of Kherson. More than 35% of the issue was sold in two days.
