Ukrzaliznytsia shows off new couchette cars for Kyiv-Chernivtsi route

Ukraine’s national railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, has shown off its brand new first class carriages that will operate on trains running between Kyiv and Chernivtsi, in a series of pictures shared by Ukrzaliznytsia on Aug. 21.

The company said that modernized carriage have air conditioning, vacuum toilets, and lighting that allows for individual control per bed.

"Amidst the summer travel season, the Chernivtsi route has more to offer to customers in terms of price and services, because more luxury carriages for the sophisticated customer are running here alongside cheaper ones for social needs, for example, for transporting groups of children to recreation facilities," the message reads.

Earlier, taxi service Uber and Ukrzaliznytsia launched a new service called Uber Travel in Ukraine, integrating Uber rides with train journeys and offering passengers a 10% cashback on trips to or from railway stations in Kyiv.
