name. While he has undoubtably played a crucial role in Ukraine’s successful defense, other co-authors of Ukrainian victory have played no less of an important role: among them, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the spring, he led the defense of Kyiv, and later became one of the leaders of the swift counteroffensive in Kharkiv Oblast.
