Ukrainian doctors have delivered over 48,000 children in Ukraine, Ukrainian Ministry of Health reported on Facebook.

The largest number of babies were born in Lviv Oblast - 4,372, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast - 3,873 and Odesa Oblast - 3,441.

It is also reported that regardless of the period of pregnancy and whether the pregnant woman was registered before, a woman may choose any nearest hospital that provides the appropriate medical care and receive free-of-charge service.

Pregnant women who, due to active hostilities, have moved to other regions and received the status of an internally displaced person also have the right to receive care and give birth free of charge.

This also applies to those who remain in cities where access to medical care is difficult and there is a need to go to a different hospital.

Detailed information on facilities providing pregnancy services can be found in the contact center of the National Health Service, by calling the hotline number 16-77.
