Levchyk, a brown tabby cat living in Ukraine’s western city of Lviv, has been winning over viewers on the TikTok social network for almost a year.

After finding his way into the mayor’s office by accident, he has since been appointed to the city’s top cat post: the important role of “Lviv’s feline mayor.”

Levchyk lives in the office of Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, who has also a few videos with his fluffy counterpart.

Netizens have come up with different names for Levchyk (a diminutive form of Lev, or lion): Super Leomayor, Murchyk Murkovych Sadovyi, and Prince Kitenskyi (Feline) are among the best.

The feline mayor does his job very well. Here he managed to catch his tail, for example.

Here, he made the day of everyone he met.

And here he is responsibly carrying a toy in city hall.

Levchyk reached the mayor’s office by climbing a nearby tree – unable to get down, and he was helped by a few members of city hall staff.

Since then, Levchyk has been receiving delegations with dignity, and bounding around the mayor’s office.
