Roman Zozulya, a football player for the Spanish club Rayo Majadahonda and former member of the Ukrainian National Team, has revealed on his Instagram account that his father is fighting against Russian invaders in one of the hottest spots of the war – the battle of Bakhmut.
Zozulya shared a video showing the aftermath of the fighting and the devastated city, stating that “Bakhmut is a city where an apocalyptic battle of angels and demons is taking place.”
“It is hard to imagine what our defenders are going through there,” he wrote.
"Somewhere on the streets of this hell, my father is fighting. Like thousands of other fathers, husbands, brothers, and sisters. They are holding back death there so that other Ukrainian cities, just a few hundred kilometers away, can continue to have a life.”
The football player urged people to continue supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which defend not only Ukraine but also Europe.
“Looking at these images, one realizes that God has long since abandoned the inner sanctums of those ‘Orthodox’ (Christians),” added Zozulya.
“Or maybe He never entered them at all.”
Previously, it was reported that Andriy Lunin, the goalkeeper for the Ukrainian National Team and Real Madrid, purchased boxing gloves owned by Oleksandr Usyk at a charity auction organized jointly with \ Zozulya.
