Irish actor Jack Gleeson, best known for his role as Joffrey Baratheon in HBO’s Game of Thrones, will visit Ukraine in February, Ukrainian director Ekaterina Chepura said in a Facebook post on Feb. 8.
Gleeson will stay in Kyiv for three to four days and, together with his friends, will bring a pickup truck for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was purchased with donations from UK volunteers.
“I just found out that Jack is not just coming to Ukraine, he is also delivering a pickup truck for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with his friends,” Chepura said.
During his visit, Gleeson also hopes to meet with Ukrainian defenders, students, and actors.
The organizers of the meeting are also running “coffee with Gleeson” event, allowing anyone who donated at least UAH 100 ($2.7) a chance to win a meeting with the actor. Raised funds will be put towards buying gear for Ukrainian troops fighting in the eastern regions.
