The Polish team of the movie “EO”, which was nominated for the Best International Feature at 95th Academy Awards was the only one to openly support Ukraine at the ceremony, held in Los Angeles, the United States, overnight on March 13.
Each year at the Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, guests wear a ribbon or badge to highlight the importance of a certain event in the world.
This year, the attendees showed their support for refugees and displaced persons around the world by wearing blue ribbons.
However, “EO” camera director Michał Dymek and actor Mateusz Kosciukiewicz came to the ceremony with yellow and blue ribbons on their outfits, showing support for Ukraine.
Unfortunately, none of the celebrities at the event mentioned the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, for the second year in a row, the academy refused to allow Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to remotely appear on the Oscar telecast to give an address.
According to the entertainment news outlet Variety, WME power agent Mike Simpson made a plea to the academy to include Zelenskyy, but was refused.
