Two men attempted to cross the Ukrainian border in Zakarpattya Oblast by pretending to be minors, the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported on Facebook on April 21.

According to the border service, the two men, aged 20 and 21, were attempting to enter Hungary, along with a 52-year-old “caretaker”, who held a letter granting him power attorney over the two “juveniles”, who, according to their documents, were aged 13 and 15.

"The border control inspector detected these would-be crooks at once," the border guard service wrote.

The two men will face fines for attempting to cross the border illegally, and their accomplice may face criminal charges, the border service stated.

Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country during martial law, except in circumstances of special dispensation, poor health, or military work.
