The Ukrainian national team defeated the national team of Scotland with a score of 3:1 in the playoff match of the 2022 World Cup qualifying tournament on June 1.

Throughout the game, the Ukrainian side had a tangible advantage – though a bit of nervousness showed through when the Scottish side’s Callum McGregor brought the score up to 1:2 in the 79th minute.

However, in extra time, Artem Dovbik made a definitive statement by hitting in a third goal for Ukraine in extra time in the 94th minute, ending the match.

Andrii Yarmolenko scored first, in the 33rd minute, following Ukraine’s second goal by Roman Yaremchuk in the 49th.

Ukraine will now face off the Welsh national team. Success there will see Ukraine compete for the 2022 World Cup.
