Ukrainian designer Ali Saulidi, who was born in Kyiv, reconfigured his shoe production to produce tactical shoes for the Armed Forces, and starting producing shoes called UA Defender back in April.

The brand currently produces two types of tactical shoes — the short UA Defender boots and the tall UA Defender II in pastel and black colors.

The brand produces shoes with the support from a charity fund and donations and sends them to the Ukrainian military, as well as selling them through its own website.

On Instagram, the brand shared a photo of Ukrainian soldiers in the field wearing UA Defender II tactical boots. The troops in the photo appear to be drone operators.

“UA Defender II tactical boots on duty,” the photo caption reads.

In addition to tactical footwear for the military, the brand has also developed women’s and men’s high platform boots styled as tactical footwear.
