Ukraine could be in for a very special treat after the UEFA Europa League playoff round draw was held on Aug. 7.

Zorya Luhansk was drawn to meet the winner of the third round qualifying game between Ukraine’s Dnipro-1 and Czechia’s Slavia.

Should Dnipro get by their opponents from Prague, that will ensure one Ukrainian team will qualify for the 2023-24 Europa League group stage.

The loser will play in the group stage of Europe’s third tier Conference League.

Should Dnipro-1 fail to get past Slavia, they will need to beat the winner of Lech Poznan (Poland) and Spartak Trnava (Slovakia) to qualify for the Conference League group stage.

Earlier, Vorskla Poltava was eliminated from European cup play after falling 3-1 to Dilja Georgia in Conference League qualification action.

Zorya will play the first match away on Aug. 24 – Ukrainian Independence Day, with the deciding match taking place in Poland’s Lublin Arena on Aug. 31.
