Ukrainians called on to vote for the most beautiful Christmas tree in the country

Ukrainians have been invited to vote for the country’s most beautiful Christmas tree from a top-ten selection from cities around the country chosen by the State Agency for Tourism Development.

 The agency announced the vote for the best of its top ten trees in a post on Facebook.

“At the moment, the Christmas tree is the main decoration in Ukrainian cities,” the agency’s post reads.

“The State Agency for Tourism Development has decided to conduct its own rating of the most beautiful Christmas trees in the country. Be inspired by the New Year's mood, and vote!”

Kyiv

An artificial 31-meter-tall Christmas tree installed in the capital Kyiv. It is decorated with over 20,000 ornaments of red and gold colors, as well as 10 kilometers of bright wired Christmas lights.

Lviv

In Lviv, a natural 17-meters-tall Christmas tree has been installed, presented to the city by 85-year-old Vasyl Kozlenko, who had been growing it in his yard for 35 years. As traditional, it has been set up on the square in front of the Opera.

Dnipro

The main Christmas tree in Dnipro is artificial, and 20-meters-tall. UAH 12.5 million from the city budget was spent on its installation and decoration.

Odesa

This winter, Odesa's Dumska Square and the city's main Christmas tree were decorated with festive lights with a marine theme. More than UAH 2.5 million from the city budget was spent on the decorations.

Lutsk

The main Christmas tree in Volyn is actually a trio of fir trees that grow on the central square. This year 150 ornaments and more than 200 Christmas lights were hung on them.

Vinnytsia

This year, the 28-meter-tall Vinnitsa Christmas tree has new ornaments and lights. The fir tree was decorated with large icicles and large 3D glowing Christmas baubles, as well as flowers of golden, silver and blue colors.

Uzhgorod

A new artificial 18-meter-tall Christmas tree has been installed in the city. The new acquisition cost the city slightly less than UAH 1 million.

Kherson

The Kherson Christmas tree, 18-meters-tall, has three-and-a-half kilometers of wired Christmas lights and about 500 Christmas tree ornaments, 45 of which have their own lighting.

Zaporizhzhia

This year, the 22-meters-tall Christmas tree was decorated in a European style, with the city spending about UAH 2 million on new ornaments and Christmas lights.

Kharkiv

The main Christmas tree in Kharkiv is one of the highest in Ukraine – 40.5-meters-tall. It is assembled from individual parts and illuminated by LED baubles. The Christmas tree decorative lighting works in day and night modes.
