Where to go skiing and snowboarding in Kyiv and outside the city
With the capital seeing some snowfall in recent days, NV has checked out some of places where you can go skiing and snowboarding in Kyiv and outside the city, as well as rental points for skiing and snowboarding equipment and cross-country skis.

Protasiv Yar
Protasiv Yar is a ski sports complex in Kyiv. It is the base for the Olympic training of the Ukrainian national teams in skiing and snowboarding, as well as an educational and training center for children and youth sports schools in Kyiv. Protasiv Yar opened for the 2021-2022 season in December.
Slopes
150 meters – children's training slope
275 meters with a vertical drop of 60 meters – for beginners.
500 meters with a height difference of 60-80 meters – a combined slope of medium difficulty.
320 meters with a height difference of 80 meters – for athletes and experienced enthusiasts (the slope is verified by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
Rates
Access to the slopes – UAH 100;
use of the ski lift – UAH 25 per use on weekdays, UAH 35 on weekends and holidays;
equipment rental: a set of ski or snowboard equipment costs UAH 350 per day for adults, UAH 250 for children;
day pass for two hours – UAH 250 on weekdays and UAH 350 on weekends and holidays.
Protasiv Yar has floodlights for skiing at night. Night skiing costs UAH 350 for unlimited use of ski the lifts and access to the slopes. Night skiing takes place on the night of Saturday to Sunday from 22:30 to 4:00. Ski passes can be purchased on Friday from 14:00 or during the night skiing period.
How to get there

From the Olimpiyska metro station take shuttle bus No. 495, No. 450 and trolleybus No. 40. From the Vokzalna metro station take shuttle bus No. 198, and get out at the Institute of Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery stop.

Holosiivskyi Ski Park
Since 2017, a ski and snowboard school has been operating in Holosiivskyi Park in Kyiv. Both athletes and enthusiasts can ski here, and there are also classes with instructors. Individual training is carried out for children from three years.
Slopes
Holosiivskyi Ski Park has one slope – 400 meters. There is also a 500-meter lift.
Rates
night skiing for six hours from 22:30 to 4:00, not including the cost of the lift – UAH 450;
two hours on weekends, excluding the cost of the lift – UAH 350;
two hours on weekends, excluding the cost of the lift – UAH 250;
access to the snow without the use of lifts for four hours – UAH 80;
one lift on weekends – UAH 40;
one lift on weekends – UAH 30.
How to get there

From Vystavkovyi Tsentr and Lybidska metro station, take shuttle bus No. 212 to the Korpus No. 2 stop, go down Henerala Rodymtseva Street and Polkovnika Zatievakhina Street.
Walking distance from the Holosiivska metro station - about 45 minutes.

Gvozdoff
Gvozdoff is a suburban complex in the Vasylkivskyi district of the Kyiv region, which opened in 2016. There are two ski tows, a multi-lift, and slopes for skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
Slopes
50 meters – for children and beginners.
200 meters with a vertical drop of 35 meters – for experienced skiers and snowboarders.
220 meters with a vertical drop of 40 meters – for experienced skiers and snowboarders.
Rates
snowboard kit: on weekdays UAH 300 for half a day, UAH 400 for the whole day; on weekends UAH 350 for half a day, UAH 500 for the whole day;
ski equipment rental:
— for adults on weekdays UAH 350 for half a day, UAH 500 for the whole day; on weekends UAH 400 for half a day, UAH 550 for the whole day;
— for children on weekdays UAH 300 for half a day, UAH 400 for the whole day; on weekends UAH 350 for half a day, UAH 500 for the whole day;
one lift on a weekday for adults from UAH 30 to 50, for children UAH 25;
one rise on weekends for adults UAH 60, for children UAH 30;

You can get there by your own car or taxi, 40-50 minutes from the city center.
