A woman from the Russian republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, located in the North Caucasus, claims she was deceived by local authorities, in a video posted to social media on April 20.

Reportedly, the local authorities in her district promised to provide her with firewood for heating, after her husband was conscripted into the Russian military, but presented her two tickets to the local circus instead.

"My husband was voluntarily mobilized on Jan. 24, 2023,” she says in her video.

“The local authorities of Urupsky District promised me help. (They promised) to bring me firewood. Instead, they've brought me two tickets to circus. Serhiy Volodymyrovych Kornev, the head of the village municipality, was constantly lying. He said: ‘I'll bring it, I'll bring it, I'll bring it.’ But in the end, he brought two tickets to the circus.”
