Ukrainian police have discovered over a thousand bodies of murdered civilians in Kyiv oblast. The current toll stands as high as 1,202 individuals, but may be higher, reported head of Kyiv regional police Andriy Nebutov during a TV interview on May 2.
The bodies have been examined by the forensic experts and given to specialized medical facilities, for official recognition of cause of death.
Not all of the bodies have been identified. 280 of them remain unidentified, said Nebutov. Another 300 individuals remain missing, with no bodies found.
The number of Ukrainian civilians slain by Russian forces in Kyiv Oblast grows by the day.
Law enforcement agencies, working on identifying the dead, use DNA analysis and upload the results to a national database. The agencies also follow up with the families of the deceased for identity confirmation.
