17 Russian soldiers died in a single friendly fire incident, Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR) revealed in a new audio intercept published on Dec. 29, allegedly captured from enemy communications.
On the intercept, a voice presumably belonging to a Russian soldier can be heard describing the incident.
“There were 30 people in the platoon,” the alleged Russian soldier can be heard saying.
“The tank, our tank, f**ked us like hell – 17 people out at once. Ours. Here, our own people are kicking our asses. They are f**ked up. We are ahead, and the machinery is f**king behind us. It is not the tanks in front, but the people behind. And the people are walking, while the tanks are behind us. There are no regular troops here. We are alone here – the conscripts.”
