Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, 186 children have been killed in Ukraine, and 344 were wounded, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine said in a post via Telegram messenger on April 12.
According to the message, these figures are not final, and are being updated with information that keeps coming in from combat zones, as well as temporarily occupied and liberated areas.
The Regional breakdown of children casualties was reported as follows:
Donetsk – 113;
Kyiv – 115;
Kharkiv – 76;
Chernihiv – 54;
Mykolaiv – 40;
Luhansk – 36;
Kherson – 36;
Zaporizhzhia – 22;
Sumy – 16;
Zhytomyr – 15.
Near a destroyed car in Kyiv oblast, law enforcement discovered a grave of five people, including two children, aged 1 and 14.
In the village of Havrylivka, near Bucha, body of a 5-year-old child was found, who had been badly wounded by an artillery shell explosion.
On April 8, Russian shelling of an apartment building in Mariupol killed a 1-year-old girl.
On April 11, a 13-year-old boy was killed by the Russians in Kharkiv.
