Ukrainians all over the country heard 189 air raid sirens throughout Independence Day on Aug. 24, making it the largest number since the start of the full-scale invasion.

The previous record was set on April 23, the day before the Orthodox Christian holiday of Easter, when 109 alarms sounded.

The largest amount of sirens went off in Kirovohrad Oblast (12 alarms), Poltava Oblast (12 alarms), Zaporizhziya (11 alarms), and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (11 alarms).

That same day, 25 people were killed and more than 30 injured as a result of Russian rocket attacks on the village of Chaplyne in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Russian missiles hit the railway station, destroying a civilian passenger train.
