The first details of the result of a massive Russian missile strike against the village of Desna in Chernihiv Oblast, 60km north of Kyiv, have been clarified by Chernihiv regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus, speaking on Ukrainian TV on June 25.

“I’m afraid I cannot provide much information,” he said.

“Indeed, in the morning, the village of Desna was a target of a massive missile attack. Some infrastructure has reportedly been destroyed. Luckily, there are no casualties reported yet. As we can see, these missile strikes were launched from aircrafts and from the ground.”

According to Chaus, these actions are a signal of panic in the ranks of the invaders.

“The enemy is spending billions on rocket attacks,” he noted.

“The enemy is furious because they receive a worthy push back from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

Ukraine’s Operational Command “North” first reported that 20 missiles had been fired at the village of Desna from aircraft that flew in from the territory of Belarus.

“We are informed about the destruction of infrastructure facilities,” OC North stated.

“No casualties so far. Details are being finalized and will be announced at a later date.”
