The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 29 settlements in Kherson Oblast since Oct. 1, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hromov said at a briefing on Oct. 6.

At the same time, he noted that Russian troops are trying to counterattack in the Kherson sector using their reserves to deter the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive and regain control over the lost territories.

He also stated that the invading Russian forces on the Kherson axis continue to shell settlements in the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
