Russian invasion claims lives of 339 Ukrainian children

Some 339 children have been killed and over 611 injured since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine said in a Telegram post on June 25.

The message notes these figures are not final, as accurate casualty reports are still coming in from active war zones and temporarily occupied territories.

The report also provided the following regional breakdown of child casual-ties:

Donetsk – 335;

Kharkiv – 179;

Kyiv – 116;

Chernihiv – 68;

Luhansk – 55;

Mykolaiv – 48;

Zaporizhzhia – 31;

Sumy – 17.

The message also mentioned some of the recently established child casualties of the war.

A recent investigation determined that a family with a 14-year-old boy died in a Russian airstrike on Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast, on March 9.

Another 16-year-old boy was injured in a Russian artillery strike near Kharkiv on April 6.
