Thirty-eight countries have joined the coalition to create a special tribunal to investigate crimes of aggression against Ukraine, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anton Korynevych stated at a briefing on July 18.
Korynevych explained that this coalition is discussing various issues of organizing a tribunal to ensure accountability for crimes of aggression against Ukraine.
The coalition also includes several international organizations, Korynevych said, and has already held several meetings.
On May 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hosted an online summit of Core Group leaders to create a special tribunal dedicated to the crime of aggression against Ukraine, attended by 37 countries.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had previously explained that a special tribunal is the only way to bring Russia's top political and military leadership to justice for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
The European Parliament also supported the creation of the tribunal with their resolutions.
